We’ve had a good year of books at the book group and some new faces have come along adding variety and vigor to the discussion. Stag’s Leap by Sharon Olds, which we discussed back in February, was probably our most enthusiastically enjoyed book of the year and one I’ll definately go back to.

Our own Mark Russell saw his first pamphlet, Pursued by Well-being, published by Tall-lighthouse in November. It is a marvellously bold and accomplished debut, full of humour as well as sensuality and all the stuff of life; get yourselves a copy.

The end of the year also saw Glasgow’s first poetry bookshop – Tell it Slant – being opened in Onecubeortwo gallery space in Fleming House, 134 Renfrew Street. It’s the perfect place to find all your poetry wants: new and second-hand books as well as pamphlets, text art and more. Hope to see you there in 2014.
